1and1 then expanded to the US just 3 years after their initial launch in Europe. They have been constantly adding new data centers in the US. This branch might be new, but it is still just as reliable. In fact, their biggest data center is also located in Lenexa, Kansas.

Let’s look at the 1and1 (IONOS) data center locations in the United States:

They have 5 major options for selecting 1&1 cloud server data centers. In the US locations, they don’t offer you the option to select the state/city but for European servers, you may choose the data center location for your cloud.

The 1&1 cloud server data centers are as follows:

• USA: Newark in New Jersey, Las Vegas in Nevada, and Lenexa in Kansas
• UK: London
• Germany: Baden, Berlin
• Spain: Logroño

You can only select these data centers when you add the desired cloud package to the cart and proceed to checkout. During the checkout, you will see a server selection option where you can choose the country you’d like your cloud data center to be located.

Where are the 1&1 Backup Storage Servers Located?

1&1 backup storage servers have 6 major locations, just like the cloud ones but with the addition of a center in France.

• USA: Las Vegas in Nevada, Newark in New Jersey, and Lenexa in Kansas
• UK: London
• Germany: Baden and Berlin
• France: Paris
• Spain: Logroño

For backup servers as well as for VPS, you will have to select the data center from the drop-down menu before you select the package.

Where are the 1&1 Shared Servers Located?

1&1 shared servers are located in Germany, by default. Moreover, there is no option to change the data center.

It’s quite confusing for many people to identify 1&1 shared server locations as it’s not mentioned directly on the website. Our team at WebHostingScope went 2 steps ahead and contacted the hosting team to know about the location.

So, it’s safe to say that their location is in Germany.

Further, you don’t have to worry about the data as your data is mirrored in two different locations. But, keep in mind that this is applicable for shared servers only.
